Heat causes dizziness?

Basically, we all know its been hot in England for the last few days but my room is beyond a joke. I usually keep the window shut because when I open it a flock of spiders are in my bedroom by the end of the night... and it doesn't help having arachnophobia. So instead I leave the door wide open and the fan running. The PC fan gets hot though during the day and circulates warm air around!

Anyway, for the last couple of weeks I've been feeling pretty strange. I went doctor and he said it would die off. I had been having headaches for a while along with this 'dizziness' but they went away last week.

Is it the heat that is probably causing it? I don't feel dizzy like 'OMG I CANT SEE WAAAAHH' fall over~. Rather just not 100%.

Drink more. Spend less time at the computer - get some fresh air. Get some exercise so that you don't pass out just from walking down and back up the stairs to get some more Kleenex

Went through the same kind of situation, except I was in the loft room where it gets hot enough to cook an egg on the floor. My solution was to get air conditioning.

I can tell you most definitely that it is the heat thats making you dizzy. I've lived through many an Australian summer and felt "not all there/not 100%" because of it.

My advice would be to drink more fluid (preferably water), wear loose fitting clothes whenever possible and try not to stay in the same room all the time; go out and walk around your house or go and sit outside for a while to get some fresh air, but try to remain in the shade between 11am and 3pm as thats when the sun is at its strongest.

Staying inside a stuffy room is the worst thing you can do when its hot.

Also, maybe invest in another fan to circulate the air around even more?
yeh, its the heat alright.
invest in a fan - £20 to make yourself feel much better. you can get some fairly quiet ones, and you'd be amazed at how easy it is to get a good nights sleep with a fan blowing on you. although the air will still be warm, it'll be moving.

make sure you drink plenty, try and put your computer on standby/hibernation when you are not using it

Well, I'm verry heat sensitive and I get very ill in the summer cause I'm so fair and blue eyed! But also I have problems with iron deficiency and low blood pressure so if I run upstairs I'm likely to collapse... I'd suggest asking about your blood pressure/iron at the doctors just to make sure.

You're dehydrated. Drink more water, and keep your windows open during the day. Close your curtains at sunset and you should stop bugs flying in (they're going for your lamp or shiny computer screen). A fan won't actually cool you down but it might help circulate the air more, preventing it from getting too hot.

The older your computer, the hotter it tends to be. If you happen to be a techie, or you know someone who is, see about replacing the cooling fan with something a bit more effective. It can help PC performance as well as your room temperature.

Water is definitely the most important thing though. Make sure you drink plenty, and while it's still cold.

Yeah I think so too. The last time I was dehydrated I started seeing strange yellow and light blue spots everywhere. It's not a good feeling...

I get that, wen I stand up the room spins & I have to lean on something. I think its to do with the heat at least partly. I used to get it if I spent ages in a really hot bath as well!

Sounds like you might be dehydrated and possibly going out in the sun unprotected by a hat or cap at its hottest periods between 12 and 2 pm. Try drinking loads of fluids during the day and if you have to go out during these times wear a hat or cap. Light coloured clothing might do the trick if you live in black tee shirts like myself:rolleyes: It is possible that the heat may be giving you these headaches. i saw a programme recently which said that you should probably refrain from doing rigorous exercise at the hottest times because u lose too much fluid and may feel faint. Again if you have to then replace lost fluids with plenty of water. I often forget to drink because i dont feel thirsty but you need to force yourself to, have a drink now and then during the day. Hope this helps

:ditto: My eyes and head always ache whenever it even gets slightly hot  , especially if I've been in the sun and it makes me want to vomit. Sometimes sleeping works really well. Also not turning my head too much helps a bit.

Yeah, thanks for the ideas guys. I'm certain now it is the heat. I've caved in and open the window, I'm past caring how many spiders come in!

Yes it can and apparently it can cause stress too....
