Hi

I'm currently studying AS Sociology using the exam board AQA and I was wondering if there was any extra reading or anything I can do. I asked my teacher but she was busy so she didn't really say much..I want to try and get the best possible grade as I want to do this in Uni.

Thank you!

Hey, I too study this on AQA for AS and I'm really enjoying the course so far. I think really all you can do is look at your notes and study them a few times a week in detail. What I have started to do is make mini fact files about a sub-topic and link up all of the sociologist names to them for better marks in longer exam questions. You could also think to look over the specification like the 10 different topics in Families and Households for example and look at notes for a future topic online you haven't studied so that you get ahead of your class and seem to do better in homeworks etc and have more knowledge. Hope this helped!

The sociology of housework - Ann Oakley is a good read and would be suitable for paper one extension reading (unit 1, families and households).
