A level Maths Mechanics homework

Hi,
I am currently studying AS maths mechanics and a bit behind others in my class. It is taking a bit longer for me to understand parts of maths mechanics.

Please could you check the attached photos to see if I have correctly answered the questions or if I have made any mistakes. I have only done 4 of the questions so far.

Many thanks in advance.

Looking at the first one.

We need to assign a direction as positive. So, upwards looks to be what you're going for.

In which case you have u and a correct.

However, it's hopefully clear that when the ball hits the ground s will be -9.2, and v,t will both be unknown.

With that in mind have another go at the two parts.

Question2.

a) with 330m is correct.

b)

Although you have the right answer, it's accidental, and the working out is incorrect.

For the final 10 seconds only,
Distance travelled is 440-330 = 110.
You treat the start of the interval as t=0, and its end will be t=10.
You have u and v correct.

suvat assumes that acceleration is constant, and over the whole 0 to 40 seconds that's not the case, as it changes twice.

c)

You made an arithmetic slip. 10=-50a, so a = ?
