A-level textbooks that say "the USSR was communist"? ergh, i don't think so.

i didn't just read commie books, i read mein kampf sitting in the school library and machaevelli's prince. :p: much better than being sociable and "cool".

hehe, i'm impressed you thought i was 22.

Whats mein kampf like? Ive got a 1939 copy in my house. No, im not a Neo Nazi. I read extracts for A level, he just seems to rant more than The_Bear.

Its kind of annoying i thought you were older than i am, i would have insulted you more if i knew you were only my age (ish). I subconciously write differently in regard to older people, i always get the feeling they know far more than me so i have to pick my words better.

Er, shouldn't it be 'Communism' and not 'Communalism'?

Any good historian would know that the USSR was post-rev socialist under Lenin but then became statist under Stalin's rule.
That post was from a year and a half ago.

That's a good idea. How is it done?

In the meantime, we should be able to have some discussion without a leader. I'll try and come up with smoething.

Go for it - should be fun.
We need an Mod to help with this.
    Then perhaps a vote...?

I just put in an application for the 'Marxist Society'.
Methinks it should be up on the list pretty soon.

You guys would be most welcome if you wanted to join?
We could be like the Bolshevik Spearhead; confused and naive.

Oh yeah, I made a comment about that as well. But a little too irrelevant to create a new society, don't you think?

    Still, I'd probably join. :ninja:

Excellent. Discussion time, then, eh? :wooo:

What do you guys think of inequalities within classes? Did Marx perhaps ignore a fundamental source of inequality, even in the 19 century? Surely the black proletariat was not treated the same as the white proletariat? How important are these inequalities stemming from race, ethnicity, etc.?

Such as? Because what Marx wrote was seriously dead on to the period he was writing in - i.e. the Industrialisation of Europe and in particular, Britain and Germany
Surely the black proletariat was not treated the same as the white proletariat? How important are these inequalities stemming from race, ethnicity, etc.?
Mmm..well black people were treated bad no matter what class they had, which usually was only prole or lower. Compare it to Alexander IIIs Russification during 1880s-1900s. Slavs and Jewish people were treated awfully.
