IB Results + UCAS Track

Hi Guys,

IB results are available online on July 6th and I was wondering whether UCAS track will update/ change offers from conditional to unconditional on or before this date (I believe results are released to universities on the 5th) as seems to be the case for A level results in August, assuming of course that you have met the conditions  . Either way, it would make the walk to school considerably less nerve wracking!

Cheers

Yes, but it may take quite some time before the change is reflected.

This really depends and varies from uni to uni. Some are prepared to accept you immediately, while others want to evaluate the entire batch of people who failed to meet their offers, before making the decisions. Contact your uni.

I received my offer from Manchester 2 days before the release of the IB results (4th July). That was something unexpected.
But it could depends on the uni you applied to.

well, uni hasn't received my result! do you think that maybe it' would be better if i send a certified copy from my school?

You can do that also. There's no guarantee that they'll update Track as soon as they receive it... but it's another hurdle out of the way.

Nothing to be worried about. Call the university and ask if they've received your grades. They might just be waiting to update the status of all applicants at one go once the 'A' level results are released.

I called the uni, they said they had contacted the IBO and the IBO said I hadnt signed "the declaration" for my results to be released. Well, what else is their stupid results service supposed to be that I signed up for?... *despair*

lindindin,

If you did sign up for results service (equivalently signing "the declaration"), then the IBO would release your results to UCAS, which would send it to the universities you applied to. At least that's how I understand it, and in addition that system worked for me: I signed up for results service, got my offer and UCAS track updated less than week from 6 July (though I had to email the university (Bath) first, since the admissions department was a bit slow).

It is odd that the IBO claims you haven't signed up for results service when you claim that you have.

Perhaps you should contact your IB Coordinator and verify that s/he signed you up for results service. If nothing else, then I think you could send a verified copy of your results to the university you applied to.

Probably just a coordination muckup between your IBC and the IBO. In the grand scheme of things, you should actually be appreciating the fact that they value and respect your privacy.
