Right, hypothetically, lets assume an 18 yeard old guy and a few mates decide to go on a break for a few days to...um....amsterdam.

How would he break that to his parents without them making the obvious assumptions??

How about Amsterdam being the drugs and sex capital of the world, coupled with teenage lads, stereotypically being sexually insatiable and succeptible to temptation when presented with *substances*?

well I told my parents last year (and the year before) that I'd go to amsterdam with a few mates and my mum made some hints concerning "it's illegal" etc. but as I was nearly 18 and on an interrail trip she let me go, of course, and when we returned she asked about the drugs and so on and I told her we tried it and though dad and she didn't like it, it was ok with them as they know I am not addicted they didn't say sth.
tell your mum about the great city (which is AMAZING!), the friendly ppl, the nice beer, great museums, and a very liberal and special flair...amstedam has it's own vibe!
