Different people lose weight from different places. However I'm curious how you can fit into a size 8 with a 38" chest.

"Should you have lost more"?

Yeah it really depends where the majority of the weight was that you lost it from. If it was your hips/waist, then no not really.

Yup, people will lost weight from different places, I can definately vouch for that!
Yet I'm also curious too... How can you fit a size 8 with a 38" chest? I'm smaller than that yet there's no way that I can fit in any tops under a size 10

"Should you have lost more"?

Also agree with this one. There is never a "should I have lost more?" question or answer with weight especially since, as we said, people lose weight from different places.

Just don't worry about it

I was watching that 'how to look good naked' last week (sad i know) and the woman on there was like a 38something i think and when she got measured properly she ended up with like a 32E or something. Maybe u should get measured as it does sound odd how u would it into a size 8 with a chest that size?

Go and get yourself remeasured properly - if you've lost weight down to a size 8, then you are definitely wearing the wrong sized bra... It's a common mistake for people to buy a smaller cupsize, without getting a smaller back size too...

I agree - I went around thinking I was a 36 for ages - got measured somewhere more competent than M&S and found out I was actually a 30!

 arn't m&s supposed to be one of the best? that's it, im going elsewhere, i've been suffering from vanishing boob syndrome:redface: for a while and to be honest i could use the extra space in my bra for storage yet m&s refuse to let me belieive i've gone down a cup size. where did you get measured?

A few of my friends got measured in M&S recently and were told that they were a completely different bra size. When my friends tried bras in the new size, they didn't fit at all.

Therefore, M&S used to be one of the best, but no longer, I'm afraid.

M&S is ****e! Just out of 'interest' I went in to be measured a few weeks back (Marble Arch - ahem *flagship* my arse), and was told I was a 34B (I'm a 30G!!!)

^ Seriously?! That is a HUUUGE mistake to make! Go to John Lewis, they are very good there; they told me that I was wearing the wrong cup size (too small) and a back size that was too big and now all my bra's fit perfectly!

I really don't see how anyone with a 38 chest measurement can ever fit into a size 8 so my guess would be that you're wearing the wrong size or SERIOUSLY streching all your tops.

I always go to Bravissimo now - in my experience, JL are just as crap!

M&S suck.

I've been told I was a 34 but that really hurt. I'm comfortable with 36F. I knolw that now, finally!

To be honest, trying on bras is probably the best way to find out your size. Especially as it can differ in different shops.

i hate M&S bras...they are like scaffolding...

I was wearing a 32B for ages and apparently I should actually be wearing a 32D. I'm sure that spillage was attractive. So yes the measuring services are great!

Agreed, as long as people are aware how bras are supposed to fit. See this fitting guide by bravissimo. Lots of people seem to wear too big a back size and too small a cup size. The cups will fit due to the bigger back size (as the cup size is relative to the back size), and when you put it on and look in the mirror it might seem alright, but when you actually wear it for more than 10 mins, the back will ride up and the cups will lose support, and hey presto- saggy/double boob situation.

If you think you need a smaller back size, then for every back size you go down, you should try going up TWO cup sizes, as there is a two inch difference between each back size but only a 1 inch difference between each cup size, example:

Back measurement 30''=back size 34, so a 34'' bust=A, 35=B, 36=C
Back measurement 28''=back size 32, so a 32'' bust=A, 33=B, 34=C etc

So if your bust measurement was 34 inches and you were wearing a 34A which was too loose round the back, you should probably instead try a 32C. This kind of explains that woman on 'how to look good naked'...she changed her size down from a 38 to a 32, so 3 back sizes, and up from a B to an F, so 5 cup sizes!

OP- it sounds as though you are in a similar situation as it seems unlikely you have a 38 back size if you're really a size 8.

Do people not ever measure their own bra size and realise that someone somewhere is getting it wrong?
Maybe the OP is a size 8 waist downwards? Theres no way you could wear size 8 tops over 38B tops. I'm 36C & wear size 12
