Out of all the graduate recruiters, IBM is one I would definitely like to work for from what I’ve read. However, we all know reading about what it’s like to work for a company and actually working there are totally different.

So, does anyone on this forum work for IBM (or knows someone who does) give me an insight of what it’s really like?

Another question, has anyone on this forum managed to get themselves on a graduate programme with a 2.2 (when a 2.1 was specified as a requirement)? I’ve just graduated with a 2.2 from a Top 5 Uni in Computer Science (A Levels in AAB in Maths, ICT and Physics respectively). Even though most of these programmes require a 2.1, I’m still going to try my luck for the 2007 intake. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll resort to applying to EDS and LogicaCMG who do take students with a 2.2.

    IBM is hardcore.

A couple of years ago I did 2 weeks work experience at IBM in Hursley. I thoroughly enjoyed the working atmosphere and can see teamwork is an important factor in working there. If thats what you want to do, then go for it! Don't forget though, that IBM is a huge organisation so you must get a job there that is right for you.

I'm sure it requires hard work and the entry requirements are tough to get in (although you should be fine with what you have), but I bet its worth the pay
