Hello!
No not at all! Lancaster takes all applications and looks at them all equally until the official UCAS deadline on the 31st January 2024.

Thanks,
Lucy (Lancaster University Student Ambassador)

Still good guidance but the post you’re replying to is 9yrs old!

I’m guessing the recent site changes made the thread loading hang on the first page

Hello, was just wondering how many contact hours there were for politics and international relations?

Hi @Ezbe55

I’d recommend emailing the department to ask your question [email protected]

Hello,

As a mature student doing an Access to HE course hoping to get onto the Physics with Astrophysics course, the website says you need 45 credits at distinction. This is every single credit of an access course. (You have 60 module credits with 15 of them being pass/fail ones and 45 being Pass/Merit/Distinction).

Is that actually the typical requirement? Or is there a lot more flexibility in the offers they make.

Hi,
I'd recommend emailing [email protected] to find out more about the exact requirements.
Hope this helps,

Hi Anon,

I would suggest emailing the physics admissions team for clarification [email protected]

Hi Anon,

I have checked with admissions and those are the equivalent entry grades for Physics courses. However, they would also need to ensure that the Access to HE Diploma included sufficient Maths and Physics content, so it would probably best if you contact them directly at [email protected]

Hello,
I’m in Y12 and interested in maths courses but won’t be able to attend an OD until the autumn… there are several options of interest - maths & stats / maths for finance / MORSE etc. and it’s hard to choose at this point. How much flexibility is there in moving between different maths courses at Lancaster? should I just apply for straight maths? I will have both M&FM at A level (as well as French). I’m also potentially interested in the year abroad or industry year options. Again, is this something you can decide later? Thanks.

Hi,
I'm a current student at Lancaster University, unfortunately I don't study maths so I can't help with the specifics. I'd recommend using the 'chat to our students' page https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/study/chat/?popcardRedirectData=P2RlZ3JlZT01ZGRiZGFjM2I2MTczMTAyMWE4OTJhN2ImbGFiZWw9TWF0aGVtYXRpY3MlMjBhbmQlMjBTdGF0aXN0aWNz&ub_medium=product&ub_source=University%20Popcard&ub_campaign=&ub_content= to get more information specific to the courses that you're interested in. You could also get in contact with the mathematics department.
In terms of year abroad and year in industry, normally there is some flexibility to change during first year dependent on availability. During second year there tends to be specific training sessions to prepare you for both of these options.
Hope this helps,

hi I am looking at the international management (Italy) course and was wondering how tuition fees work in years 3 & 4 as you study in a different university. is it still £9250? and can you still get student finance

Hi Anon

Tuition fees in study abroad years are reduced to 15% of the standard tuition fee (so 15% of £9250), and you don't pay fees to the partner university. SFE is a separate process to the university, so you'd have to reach out to them separately to confirm. However, I am on a placement year in the UK (paying 20% of the standard tuition fee) and SFE did fund my tuition fees this year.

I hope I could help,

Hi,

I'd recommend giving [email protected] an email to find out specifics about the different maths courses flexibility. In general, industry year options tend to be fairly flexible to choose later on. Again email the maths department for clarification in addition to information about study aboard years.
