Intelligent Dance Music. Stupid t=name, as it sounds pretencious and mostly isn't dancable.

Basically experimental techno. Most well known act as far as I know is Aphex Twin but I prefer Autechre.

You've got to let the second one down build.

It really depends. There's no such 'rule of thumb'. I guess pop music is the most broad and accessible and, thus, most popular. But you could argue events like Glastonbury/T In The Park/Reading & Leeds make alternative music (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian etc.) just as popular, whilst house music is obviously hugely popular in the club scene with teenagers gurning their faces off to the latest Bashmore track.

House music in the UK currently.
Well.

Although it is definitely more popular, it cannot be said that when I go to a club night, there will be an abundance of UK house....

I never meant House music produced in the UK... just that House music in general is the most popular here from what I've seen.

I know an awful lot of people that like rock / metal and also IDM. :yep:

Aphex is always a hero of the genre, but I quite like Venetian Snares as well.

Same, but i think think Autechre's 'Confield' made them replace Aphex as the the kings of IDM.
