I havent got my A2 results yet but i'd be surprised if it wasnt an A. I only need 184/300 for an A and i'm pretty sure i've exceeded that in my summer exams.

I can't understand the original post. You want to teach yourself C1 now as you need to be ahead of other people in your class?!

What is wrong with you?!

You will follow the content much better if you wait and do it with your class. Maths A Level is not pushed for time and is largely doable, so there is absolutely no need to get ahead.

samd i need to be ahead for my confidence in maths, like in gcse when i didnt understand one thing i got so stressed out and as i go to a private school its a very stressy environment with geniuses all around you and so you move really really quickly. I know that if i got ahead of gcse i could have achieved an A* and i dont want to make that same mistake for alevel

Do lots of past papers lol thats the best advice. I would also attempt some of slightly easier papers (like the Solomon's starting ones) without revision so you can test your recall and reasoning, otherwise its all just mechanical.
You learn a lot by trying to 'figure out' how to do something rather than the method being laid in front of you.

Obviously dont cram and when you complete a unit, maybe do a paper per week to keep things 'ticking over.'

in additional in the sixth form i plan to attend (inner city and all dat) it does not seem to be uncommon for students to not have time to be taught whole units in class in time for exams, i really dont want to be in that situation for any of my subjects

:ditto: for my C1. I think I dropped 1 mark on C2 also, so I guess that'll be about 4 UMS again

Do you have one?

Also, don't panic when you see the soloman papers guys, they are much harder than the real thing. You'd get a much better indication of how hard it is by just looking at past papers.
