A-Level Dance???

Hey guys! x

I want to go to Drama school to study acting but most courses involve dance, I'm not terrible but I'm not great either.

So as I have some experience and the GCSE isn't necessary should I take A-Level Dance??

If I took Dance this would be my subject list:

- Dance
- Drama
- English Literature
- History

What do you think?

As English literature and history are on this list - you have two traditional, respected choices, so you should be fine with that. By fine I mean if you decided you didn't want to study acting you could fall back on your other A-Levels and study English and become a teacher or something.. But they are fine for studying acting - and the other subjects will complement Drama and Dance and look good in your application as there is (as far as I know) some literature an history involve in A-Level Drama.

I think it would be more useful to do grades in dance if it's important for courses you many want to apply for

A-Level Dance is actually really hard, you have to be really good to get good grades.

You clearly have no knowledge of Dance A-level and how difficult it actually is, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Pick the subjects that will help you with what you want to be in the future (especially if you're wanting to go to uni) otherwise its gonna be rather pointless. You've got quite a range of subjects so I don't know what it is you wanna go into. If its theatrical and dance stuff then sure it kinda makes sense to do it.

Yeah, i dont disagree with you but there are courses in uni that require certain alevel subjects. For example I want to do accounting and finance and the uni i want to go to requires a certain grade for a level maths and economics.

Thats why i said at the end do research because thats what i did

A-level dance is honestly my hardest A-level just because you don't know what the course content is, it doesn't mean you have to be so rude about it. ffs some people

DO NOT i repeat DO NOT do A level dance unless you are an incredibly strong dancer i made the stupid mistake of taking it, bearing in mind id danced for 9 years out of school prior to taking it and i have never been so humbled in my life it is be far the hardest A level im taking the theory is awful the practical is awful everything about it is awful so unless you want to study specificly dnace and got to RAD or smth for uni i woukd highly reccomend not taking it. it is not worth the blood sweat and tears that you will defo have if u do it.

Hi! I'm doing a University study on gender differences in how people express academic difficulties, would you mind telling me your gender- it would be of huge help to my study (all data is anonymous so your name etc. will not be needed or used)
