AQA Science ISA - Preliminary help!

Hello!

I am doing my section one test tomorrow, and the only question I do not understand is the preliminary one. Our teacher refuses to help us on this, and I really do not understand.

My hypothesis is:
The amount of carbonate in an ore sample can be measure by adding hydrochloric acid to the sample until it stops fizzing.

My variables are
Dependent - Measurement (time)
Independent - Calcium Carbonate (Amount)
Control - Keep the method the same and HCL

Please help with structure! I am clueless, and Chemistry is my worst subject! Ahhhhhh!
