All lights are on, apart from the internet light, which is solid red. It cant establish an internet connection with the router, but im on my old speedtouch wannado modem and its fine, so my connection is okay. I think the router may be defective, as ive tried everything. Does this sound like it is broken? We just had a nasty thunderstorm...not sure if that has much to do with it, despite the fact that its connected to a surge protector...

The 'internet' light is the PPP link. Have so entered the ISP's username + password in the configuration pages?

On 'basic setup' make sure:

VPI = 0
VCI = 38
Multiplexing = VC
Encapusulation = RFC 2364 PPPoA
QoS Type = UBR
username is in the correct format, check password is correct

Save it, hard reboot the router from the admin pages.
