All lights are on, apart from the internet light, which is solid red. It cant establish an internet connection with the router, but im on my old speedtouch wannado modem and its fine, so my connection is okay. I think the router may be defective, as ive tried everything. Does this sound like it is broken? We just had a nasty thunderstorm...not sure if that has much to do with it, despite the fact that its connected to a surge protector...
The 'internet' light is the PPP link. Have so entered the ISP's username + password in the configuration pages?
I know. but it is red. Its meant to be green. It just cut out. I tuned off during the storm, but now it wont work at all. Ive entered everything as it should be
On the config pages, what does it say under status > DSL connection and on the main status page
I think it said 'down' which worried me, although since ive unplugged and packed up to take to the place i got it from tomorrow, i cant really remember. Thats what i recall seeing though
On 'basic setup' make sure:
VPI = 0
VCI = 38
Multiplexing = VC
Encapusulation = RFC 2364 PPPoA
QoS Type = UBR
username is in the correct format, check password is correct
Save it, hard reboot the router from the admin pages.
how do I hard reboot? I reset so many times its silly. Ive used all those settings. Saved. Rebooted. Still to no avail. Thanks for the help, but im going to get it exchanged. A red light never seems good.
on my WAG54G its administration > reboot > hard > save settings
WAG54G V.2 - Firmware Version: 1.00.19
