What does it mean if you have protein in your urine? And does this link with selective reabsorption in any way? Any help would be appreciated!

Proteinuria is a sign of glomerular disease specifically what would be classed as the nephrotic syndromes. High levels of protein are also seen in diabetic patients as well; again due to glomerular changes and basement membrane changes.
Glycosuria is only really seen in diabetes and is due to hyperglycaemia and the amount of glucose being filtered overwhelming the reabsorption capabilities of the proximal tubule.
