What do you mean?
You can't get a maintenance grant for the year you're off having your gap year, no.
If you mean you're taking a gap year and then going university, then yes, subject to eligibility.

Why would you get a grant for not being in education?
If you mean after you finish your gap year then yes, you would just apply afterwards.
