depressed?

hi...lately ive been suddenly feeling really down now and then for no apparent reason. For example i'll be out with my friends having fun when sudenly i'll start feeling crapy, nearly burst into tears. I just feel like going home, curling up and crying. I really don't know whats the matter with me. Its not my periods as it happens throughout the month. I hate being like this. Could it be depression?
any help would be great!
thanks

Which one?

The OP accidentally typed "now and then" instead of "". (Understandable; the keys are right next to each other.)

OP: yes, it could. Go and see a doctor if it's bad, which I imagine it will be (as all depression is - but I mean if it's too bad for you to cope with). Is there anything that could be causing this that you know of? Problems in your life etc.? Even if you don't think you're getting stressed or annoyed at something, problems build up in your mind and things become cluttered and so on, hindering your ability to think clearly.

My advice is to go for a walk somewhere quiet that you like. Like a park or something (during school time!).
My advice would be to go to your GP.

I was diagnosed with depression, after having it for 3 years, and I wish I'd gone earlier.

If you have depression, there are a number of routes which you can tke to help make you feel better.

Obviously there is medication, but it depends on your age. Most doctors wont give you anti-depressants until you're 18, and even then, many are still reluctant. I was put on tablets after I started to self-harm.

It's best to get things checked out, because the sooner it's sorted out, the sooner you can start to feel better

See your GP, as scary as it sounds they're the only people who can give you advice.

Good Luck
