The Unofficial Freshers week Scavenger Hunt
Just thought I'd start this thread so that all students (Not jus us Hallamers) are aware of what we are planning.
On Friday 22nd September we have arranged a mass scavenger hunt/pub crawl for any and all students of all years and at both unis.
The idea is relatively simple. There will be lots of teams (of 4-8 people) - some in fancy dress/with a theme- from different houses. All the teammates/housemates will be working together to decifer clues, and complete challenges in lots of different drinking destinations & clubs.
Every task completed gains points and non-completion loses them. the team with the most points wins a prize (a crate of alcohol)...paid for by us...BUT the losing team must face a forfeit.
The objective is to (1) get to know your housemates, (2) to know the area,(3) To meet new people, and (4)to have lots of fun!
Each team is armed with a kit (including a disposable camera|) full of goodies and "usefull" things for the tasks (once again paid for by us) so everyone who enters will get something out of it.

Either way let me know (even if you're not 100% sure of you acceptance yet) as we already have a lot of people, adn we want to know how many/who wants to come so we can look at securing the deals with the nightclubs for cheap entry/drinks etc.
Lets make Sept 2006 memorable and most importantly... LETS PARTY!

I am going to Sheff uni, but with my bf so I won't be in a house I don't think yet, either couple accom. or private sector, does that mean can't be part of team?

Ab fab idea can't wait to get there...hoping to go to Sheff Uni. If I get in will definitely be joining you & bringing all my flatmates along too (I'm going self catered in the city) so will e you nearer the time. Cheers

I'm glad to see so much interest from both Uni's. It's about time we all had one big party together anyway.
Keep em coming... expesh the girls. We've got to get lots more girls to join in too. Plus any ideas for costumes or themes for your team feel free to ask. (we may already have some ghostbusters coming lol)

I have just recieved an email from a Hallam Student Union Rep, who is impressed with the event we have organised.
Hence they are looking at donating some free goodies for the "survival kits" and may do some free drinks (if they can) for before we all set off.
This is now a huge event, recognised (and endorsed) by the Union, so get emailing (if you've not already) to confirm your place. It's open to anyone from any year at either Uni, so get involved and lets get out there x x x

Right everyone...now that results are out of the way...get emailing and get signed up, so i can start formally arranging the teams and of course putting these glamourous goodie bags together lol (they have sweeties in em too!)
