Well they are very different subjects, what do you want to study?

OP
Im on a gap year I have exceeded the grade requirement for both universities, I have wrote a personal statement for both courses but am unsure which would be more advantageous were I want to get into FO. I would be happy to do either. Could anyone offer some advice?

Hands down chemical engineering at imperial. The companies you have mentioned love diverse backgrounds, especially degrees in the sciences. Economics won't be significantly advantageous as you will enter a graduate training programme that will teach (reteach) the relevant economics.

Plus from a personal perspective, I've always thought imperial sounds more impressive than ucl

(To contextualise, I'm a kings girl myself..)

I thought that economics would be more relevant and the fact that the economics course at UCL would have like minded individuals in that they want to work in FO, whereas at Imperial most would like to pursue the engineering industry. Im still in a dilemma :/

Which ever subject you prefer so that you'll be motivated do better in it

1st in Economics at UCL > 2.1 in Chemical engineering at Imperial
