do you think you can fall in love regardless of age?

do you think you can fall in love and be attracted to anyone and have a crush on anyone regardless of how old they are? (forgetting the legal age of consent) like not doing anything about the attraction, just fancying them.
say a 16yr old female fancying a 40 something male.

i was just curious. you cant choose who you fall for right, so its normal for a 16 yr old to fall in love with a 40 something, without actually doing anything about it?

I personally could never of been in love at 16, I wasn't mature enough. The word love is too easily used these days. However, i'm sure it happens yes but I think a lot of times its more just a case of fancying someone/lust.

you can't fall in love with a 40year old, because he'll have 24years worth of life experience more than you, he'll know how to manipulate and mess with you better than anyone. a 40year old with a 16year old girl would just end up using and abusing.

depends on how you know or met him really...

If hes been making the moves on you, then hes dodgy as hell and you should stay clear. if not, then course its possible.

And less to do with any age gap per se. Rather how fully you can truely love at a very young age.

Something like 19yr old with a 70 year old. Sure why not. It doesn't appeal to me but I imagine you could love somone so completely that age was irrelevant.

To me, the problem is not the 16 year old loving the 40 year old, but the 40 year old loving the 16 year old. Ewww. Even the most mature 16 year old is still going to be light years behind a 40 year old, both physically and mentally.
