Research Project Proposal

Hello,

Basically, I wanted to hypothesize that the game of blackjack in a casino affords a profit making opportunity. I wish to be an accountant but I can't really think of any accountancy issues to research into; and I thought that the statistical and numerical nature of blackjack is not too dissimilar from accountancy. More importantly, I know that the paper can be conclusive.

I'm afraid of weird arguments such as "it's not very academic".

Depends how supportive your department/supervisors are. Some places might be happy with that kind of research, some won't. You'll have to ask where you are (or where you plan to study).

You'll most likely need to try and bring out the academic nature of your research in the title a bit more though. If the comment "It's not very academic" is an accurate observation, then there's not much point pitching it as an academic research project.
