..and you can be assured of a less than satisfactory response that may leave you wondering: 'has this guy ever been laid'!? :awesome:

..and you can be assured of a less than satisfactory, if seldom totally absurd, response that may leave you wondering: 'Has this guy actually ever been laid'? :awesome:
    What makes you a pseudo-intellectual?

Edit: I'm not after a definition of pseudo-intellectualism, merely what concepts and theories you find yourself drawn to to make you describe yourself in that way.

    What makes you a pseudo-intellectual?
Off the top of my head? e.g.

    • My relatively untutored, poorly read, background

    • My constant reference to critical theory and pragmatism

    • My altogether intuitive and heuristic typical modes of 'analysis'

    • My unconventional, somewhat anti-positivist approach to particular avenues of medical/systems biology research

    • My powers of oratory/articulation/argumentation/persuasion being far in advance of my raw intellect/intellectualism

Loved the Foo Fighters in my youth, ended up calling myself Foo.mp3 as a gaming nick (Counter-Strike then Battlefield 2), then figured if I was going to create a TSR account I'd continue in the same vein :^_^:

Do you have any hobbies and what are they?
    • Amateur functional systems biology research & support group help/advice: ME/CFS

    • Acting / Short film making

    • Writing (don't get to do this as often as I'd like outside academia, extra circular research and TSRian spiel)

    • Sport (excepting cycling, haven't played much for a while due to a particular health intervention that doesn't mix well with core exercise)!

    • Playing the drums (haven't been able to do this for a couple of years tho tbh, kit's been stored in a shed)

    • DIY

    • Gardening

    • Grow your own

    • Amusing myself on TSR (that counts, right?) inc. discussion/debate, advice giving, counselling and mentoring

    How about you?
