yep... however arsenal are in bigger trouble, for a start no centre half and youre left back is a certainty to go.

Well they're supposed to be buying Curtis Davies from West Brom, and they have so many good youths I doubt they're too worried for the opening weeks.

Bayern have got loads of strikers - Makkay, Santa Cruz, Pizarro, Podolski - why do they want Ruud?
A swap for Podolski wouldn't be bad either.

Actually would Bayern even want to let Hargreaves go after selling Ballack?

Depends if they try raiding the Italian clubs. Although Ballack and Hargreaves aren't exactly the same type of player, you could play the both of them in the same midfield.

If they won't let Hargreaves go in exchange for Ruud then, as I said above, Podolski wouldn't be such a bad deal.

I don't think its so much that Bayern want him to go, but I think he himself wants a new challenge. He's won everything there is to win with Bayern: Champions League, Bundesliga, German Cup; so I think he'd just like to move on to somewhere different and add more trophies and medals to his cabinet

Yeah, to be honest I agree with you. I wasn't that impressed with him in the World Cup, and how he got Young Player of the Tournament I will never know.

We seem to be linked quite heavily with Defoe if the Torres transfer doesn't happen, said so on the BBC Football website's transfer gossip bit today, and I've seen him mentioned in other sources over the last week. Any comments?

defoe is a decent player but i would rather have a big man little man combo upfront rather than 2 little ones. lets concentrate on midfield first.

Yeah I agree, he isn't an all-out goalscorer like Ruud and Torres are, he prefers to run through people with his lightning pace. But you're right he is very small and that's no good considering Rooney's hardly the tallest :p:

I'm not sure if they'd want to sell him a couple of months after signing him!
