If Hargreaves comes who does he displace? He is a defensive midfielder so does that mean he competes with Carrick? I can't see him replacing Scholes just yet and Scholes is attacking. I also cannot see him replacing Ronaldo and Giggas (just yet).
So it won't be a straight in will it?
Most likely he'll push Carrick to the bench next season, which will be a shame. But Carrick is going to be Scholes' spiritual successor when he retires, and playing with two players of that nature has been fun this season - and it was fine for the Premiership - but it wasn't Champion's League winning form; just see how Gatusso tore both Carrick and Scholes apart in the Milan 2nd leg! They just couldn't get anything going because the bugger was
!!! We needed a true defensive midfielder in that game!
EDIT: AYE, that could indeed happen, but I think Fergie will be just as unhappy with Roo playing up front on his own as we will be. More likely the above will happen; we'll sell Louis 'I've Chipped My Nail Polish Again' Saha, and get a striker of Van Nistelrooy stature, so Rooney can play in the hole behind the striker - which is where he's best, in my honest opinion.
Hargreaves will play a similar role to what Keano did, I reckon; and Scholes is currently the better player than Carrick, and thus poor Mike will be displaced next year. Still, it gives him that extra incentive to get better - maybe improve his tackling - and hopefully once Scholesey does go, he'll be more
than worthy to take his place!
