Well the city I live in, Toulouse, in the South, is the 2nd 'university town' in France (there are many, many students here) and apparently there's a good atmosphere and a very good nightlife. Other than that, Paris obviously is an amazing town and French people LOVE foreigners so you'd probably make loads of wealthy friends ahah

It's really warm in the summer, and right now actually quite warm too, although it's usually chilly. We don't have much snow though

I've never been to Montepellier, it's a bit farther south and it's really close to the Mediterranean Sea. It's a bit smaller than Toulouse (which is the 4th city in France with about 400 000 inhabitants), I have no idea of the percentage of students there though tbh. People often say they both are lovely cities.

Not so much in the South - well for me, more in the East ahah I live farther south, and to the West, in Toulouse. I've been to Savoy once but never to Annecy or Lyon. Is one of your parents French?

True it is practically on the border of Switzerland but it is nonetheless in the south I guess and yes my mum is french. Are you applying to study here?

So rugby is more popular in the south of France as opposed to the north right?

Also do a lot of French still have a class of wine with each meal? Or is that just a stereotype?

Merci!

Yes it is, people really really like rugby in the South West. In the East people like football better I'd say, since there is Marseille and the OM.
My father drinks wine with each meal, I couldn't tell whether it's just him or everyone in France. My teachers at lunch drink cheap wine ahah apart from Champagne and a small dozen of 'grands crus' (well maybe a little more, idk) wine is not that classy. You can buy wine for less than 2€.
