Here is an e-mail that I just sent out and would like to share it with you lot:

Asslamu alikum warhmatu Allah wabrkatu,

The companions used to cry for 6 months after Ramadan because it left them so quickly and cry for the next 6 months waiting for the next arrival, may Allah be pleased with them all. Ramadan left us so quick that all we have left is to ask Allah to accept our fasting, praying and reciting. Who knows if we will be there for the next Ramadan, how many people do we know that fasted with us the previous Ramadans but are not around today, may Allah reward them with Alfirdaws and forgive all their sins.

I just wanted to pass to everyone this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukBX2TvfyQE . Titled a meeting with Allah. Its in Arabic but there is also English subtitles so not to worry.

Please remember me in your duaas.

Lol. True. Afterall, Allah is the Best of Planners.
Don't worry you'll love it. I did.

I'm taking a gap year this year and applying for Chemistry InshaAllah. I hope to work in the research field InshaAllah...hopefully in a few years time, the ME would be more accommodating to female scientists that aren't pharmacists or doctors.

I'm also applying to a few unis in the ME, mainly in UAE, Jordan and per my dad's request, Saudi Arabia. My only problem is that I wish to have a degree that would help me acquire a job a enjoy to earn for myself and family if need be. Getting only a degree in Islamic studies and it's branches, as woman would force me to rely on other people(family or husband) for financial support, something I don't want to do.

Abbas- Yeah, I've heard of it. I used to attend the biggest (international) school in KSA...the one with schools in almost every city of the Kingdom. It's Jeddah one is rather ....ummm...infamous to say the least. The one in Riyadh is a little more stable. I'm not gonna name it but I think you know which one I'm talking about.
MANARAT! sorry for mentionin it on!
