This year is not going well for me...the CPS test invites are due to be sent out today aren't they? Does anybody know whether everybody gets one or is it a certain number and if so any idea what percent (ish) of applicants recieve one?

In the candidate pack there was no guidance about how many would make it through to each part of the selection process. However I am assuming there is a paper sift of applications first and then only a certain % are selected for the next round. Certainly they said invites would be sent out today for the 'situation judgement test'
I wish we could all just set up our own Chambers

Hang in there guys - you only need one offer!
You can tell this thread is full of wannabe-lawyers (not pejorative): lots of people trying to take control of something that doesn't really need controlling. What "has no point" to you might be of great comfort to somebody else. It's not that hard for people to find stuff in this thread: there's a search function, and there's a button to let people go to the last unread post. Easy.

I currently await responses from:

Fenners (presume death by silence)
1 Chancery Lane (presume death by silence)
No5 (probably my best hope since it's the only Chambers to which I have a geographical connection + mini pupillage)
St Johns Buildings (paper sift on-going)
Guildhall Chambers
Outer Temple
42 Bedford Row
9 SJS (presume rejection due to others receiving invitations to interview)
1 COR - London

I'm now going to turn off my Gateway and stop checking my emails because it's driven me mad over the past few days.
why do you assume rejection by silence for 1 chancery lane? nobody has heard, according to my search

Everyone who has applied gets sent the first test - the situational judgement test. The sift is taking place after the first test, which allows them to cut some people out without having to look at their application.

The order of assessment has changed dramatically since last year though. Last year the three tests came first, then the sift, followed by case assessment and finally advocacy/interview. I think they've put the sift earlier this year to have a wider pool of applicants to send to the written test which is quite challenging. The numbers drop substantially at each round. Last year, over 1000 people applied and by the time of the case assessment (penultimate round) there were 74 people left.

Not just rejection - DEATH! I'm not keen on my chances there anyway, so it's sort of the default position I've adopted. No material reason why

St John's Buildings - how many applications do you think they got? 400?
They received just over 500 applications. Not that the extra 100 added on to that figure makes any practical difference to those waiting to hear about the outcome. Given the number of pupillages available it shouldn't surprise anyone to hear that a lot of people applied. Best of luck to all of those who did.

Kessler
Am I right in thinking that you have applied for 12 month pupillages but got interviews for 3rd six pupillages?

A third six is literally that: a further practising six months after (and only after) a 12 month pupillage has been completed! They are usually for people who didn't get tenancy at the set where they completed pupillage? I am intrigued...
I had the same thought. I am even more intrigued as to how that person actually got interviews for third six pupillages if they are seemingly yet to complete a 12 month pupillage. The only possible answer to my knowledge is that they are attempting to transfer, in which case they could technically do either, though if that was the situation they would surely attempt to bypass a full pupillage entirely and contact Chambers directly, either for advertised third six pupillages or otherwise. I can't fathom why someone would consciously put themselves right in the middle of the pupillage application process when they don't need to. Very odd.
Delurking here.... Has anyone got any information on interviews at Fenners? I've just been offered an interview tomorrow with them but was wondering if anyone had info on structure etc. Thank you
Just had an email with my Pump Court interview time...

(Which is a shame as when it said 'we are pleased...' in the email preview on my phone I thought it was an interview offer!)

Having trouble working this one out - unless you mean that you thought, from the preview, that it was an additional interview from another chambers?

I'm new to OLPAS- Do they send out rejections in sifts...not sure what silence means at this point!

Chambers all do things differently: sometimes they send a rejection email and do not change your status on the gateway; they might change the gateway status to "unsuccessful" without emailing you; some change both gateway status and email you; some never contact you to say you were unsuccessful, so your gateway status remains "Applied", but interviews have been sent out and you don't have one.

The last is rejection by silence.

Does that help?

Yes it does - thanks!
I am still waiting on 2 Hare Court. It sounds like they have sent out some rejections, but no one has received an invite to interview. Is that correct?
