Because they are associated with being terrorists. Ever heard the saying "Not all muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are muslims". So its out of fear that people hate muzi's rather than simply racism.
With the exception of homosexuality I dont have a problem with any group of people so long as they dont have a negative impact on society. In fact I will even accept homosexuality in return for a bit of bum fun.
