okay heres my problem
i'm 19 and i love this guy however my parents dont like the idea about me having bf's infact they would kill me!!! :frown:

over the years ive been with my bf, when i was 14 i have asked my parents a number of questions to do with me getting married and most of the time my parents tell me that its okay if i love a guy who had a good job and family, which he has, i mean his mum really like me :smile:

the only problem is how and when sould i tell my family about it?
please i need all the help i can get

Your parents do not control you. You may live under their roof but you're old enough to do anything you like; you're an adult, you can drink, smoke and set up a brothel. They should be grateful you're not going to. 19 is old enough to have a boyfriend and if they don't like it, and there is a danger of them throwing you out or something, simply don't tell them.

i know i shouldnt tell them, but im serious about this guy as we have been going out for 5 years and he is to so how should we tell out parents about us getting married?

I'd only talk to your parents about this guy if you were dead serious about marrying this guy, and so was he. If you parents aren't normally the type to agree to you having boyfriends, then you could end up having disagreements with your family, and then possibly end up also deciding that you don't want you marry your boyfriend either. I know it sounds a bit pessimistic, but Im sure you'd rather only tell your parents when you are 100%.
As to approaching your family about this guy, perhaps casually bring it into a conversation. You mentioned you sometimes question them about guys and marriage, so maybe say...what would you do if i already had someone i like, and he fits the criteria (eg good job/family...), would you let me marry him? And then take it from there... :smile:
