Would you ever date a girl who has litemotional problems?

Would you date a girl (or guy for that matter) who has been through a lot and has very little self esteem, who has self harmed and had a difficult time? As long as she/he is a caring and loving partner?

Yes as I suffer from low self esteem/confidence sometimes - although not to the point of depression or self harming

I have seen people with low self esteem who have got in to a relationship and change their attitude towards completely - it helped their self esteem improve
