What evidence is there to support the measurement of the years gone by since birth of Christ?

Absolutely none, but now that we have an established scale by which to measure time it's quite useful, so we might as well stick with it.

Interesting question!

I'd like to hear other peoples answers, I guess it's not 100% accurate though.

That's quite an interesting question. I never thought of the timescale being possibly wrong in a way. Hmm...

To be honest, we don't. You have to remember that the Romans adopted the scheme of counting since the birth of Jesus, yet who killed Jesus? The Romans. The oppression of Christianity before Constantine adopted it as the official religion of Rome means we do not know when Jesus was born exactly. The year we started counting is a rough estimate, and experts do not think it is correct anyway.
We have however adopted a counting system, which has been consistent over the past c.2000 years so we know we are at least in line with the system, even if the system may be inherenty faulty.

There's no need for evidence when the internet says so.
