Why are you depressed?

Manic depression is a much more physical illness than an emotional one. Its to do with an imbalance of brain chemistry rather than events leading to a depressive state.
hey, i suffer from it as well. initially, it was caused by trauma but then once the trauma ended, it became physical.

i think you should see a psychiatrist to get proper medication if your manic depression is mostly physical. otherwise, although it seems very hard or undesirable, try to get out more. see your good friends, have a laugh, do some exercise or sport (which releases endorphins). i also find that talking about it to people helps a little, but not much.

i really find manias hard to control though. when i get lows, i lie down for a bit by myself but force myself to do something proactive (uggh i hate that word). that's where the medicine comes in. cigarettes help for me but i suppose you want to keep healthy

i do sincerely hope you get better. a lot of manic depressives are young people because of the chemical inbalance that comes with the influx of hormones which you will stop having once you're an adult. but try not to dwell on it and try not to think yourself as being defined by your manic depression. i'm sure you have a lot of other great qualities that you can focus on  haha sorry if this message isn't verry succint. it's early morning hehe.
