pulling back foreskin? ouch?

For ages I have been having protected sex and I haven't been peeling back my foreskin. The thought of doing it just makes me sick as I feel that it hurts and I have been fine before, also the thought of getting it back over my penis after I am finished.

Is this a major problem that i'm not doing it? of course, I always make sure to clean myself after I have finished

It hurts the first time or two you do it fully, but most boys do that many many years before they start having sex! You cannot clean yourself properly without doing it; also, the condom doesn't seal nearly as well if you don't pull back the foreskin before putting it on.

it's a common thing apparently. According to wikipedia it's called phimosis - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phimosis

you had an erection and didnt pull back ur foreskin?

to be honest i think that I probably have, just might not have realised it yet? bascially, I just get totally off put by the fact that lots of skin is peeled or "rolled" up behind the "lump" where your penis hits the top of your penis....

After I have finished should it just go back to normal? and will it hurt when i do it.

Ie i have to be in shape for this weekend when I next go away and are likely to be doing stuff so I wondered if I can do it without it hurting by this time?

I really don't think that's anything we can tell you?! You're just going to have to be brave and do it yourself, don't worry, be gentle and I'm sure it'll stop hurting soon enough and then it won't be a problem any more and you'll be able to have lots of fun

It depends. Im sure guys vary a fair amount in their... stretchyness..

If it hurts, don't do it. Perhaps attempt to roll it back whilst having a bath - might help make it less painful? The skin should generally be a little bit stretchy, and so the foreskin will slowly recoil back to it's normal position in a short while.

thing that i am worried about, is that all the times i have done it so far no girls have attempted to pull it back. also, when touching the head of it it feels very uncomfertable, as if a pin is pricking it, how do i overcome this. also, what would be the implications of not pulling it back?

Implications? Weeeell... it may just continue to feel tender or tight, and any motion that may effect the foreskin may be painful. Not pulling it back also means you can't clean it as effectively.

To overcome high sensitivity and to loosen the foreskin, masturbating more frequently is always an option.

As for girls deciding to pull it back for you - if it hurts, don't let them! I'm sure they dont want to put you through intense pain - it might be a bit of a mood killer. :p:

Hmm, too tired? Do you mean your arm gets tired? Or does your whole body feel drained of energy before you are able to ejeculate?

If it's just that your arm gets tired then you just have to build up some more muscle. Additionally, concentrating hard on particular sexual thoughts can bring you to ejeculation more quickly, as can working out the particular motion that works best for you.

If you feel physically drained all over then it could be due to a whole host of reasons, none of which i'm particularly sure about. Bad diet may, perhaps, cause you to run out of energy... but you'd have to be pretty damn tired not to be able to carry on.

All the work of masturbating and you don't even finish yourself off? Doesn't sound like much fun! :p:
Ouch... I'd never do that, it's just too sensitive. Thinking about it... It's kind of like thinking about a needle phobia, actually. If that makes any sense.

my foreskin is incredibly stretchy, it is just the last little hole where my penis ends and when I pull this back it really hurts. should I do it when not erect or erect or is there not a best time to do it?

in response to the other posts. I am still able to come, I just find that pulling myslef off is not the best way. if someone else does it for me or I have sex with a girl then I can. anyway, could someone answer my q above please. thanks
I think most guys work this out when they are young.

You start by retracting your foreskin when you're not erect.

Then slowly the skin stretches and you do it when erect. It hurts for the first 5-6 times you do it then gradually the pain subsides.

With the regards the sensitivity, thats because you have never pulled it back. Mine used to be too sensitive to put under the shower and clean but now that I pull back the foreskin everyday before I get in the shower (and leave it pulled back whilst showering) I hardly feel it.

If you want to get ready by this weekend just try retracting the skin as often as possible, starting soft then when its hard as well, and also do it under the shower to reduce sensitivity.

Aaargh! Stop!

I'm not sure what you are pulling at...

Look at the pictures on this site - it shows a man rolling back his foreskin and therefore shows what can/should be rolled back and what should damn well be left alone:

Do not click this if you do not want to see several pictures of the penis

Coming when having sex with a girl but not when masturbating is probably quite common. You are clearly going to be very aroused when having sex with the girl, but perhaps not so much when just using your imagination. You need to improve the quality of your fantasies.
ok, thanks for that link. cleared up a lots of things. I have a question though (I have an uncircumsised penis, btw):

The second last picture shows the frenulum. I can pull my foreskin back but am afraid, wouldn't the frenulum break while having sex? It could cause bleeding/pain etc etc :frown: or does it not break and stays the same way after having sex as well.

also, how far can you take the foreskin back in an uncircumsised penis? all the way or only till the frenulum?
Lol...this is like reading a post I would make...im exactly the same as you, rarely ejaculate through masturbation unless its been a while or im really turned on...yet i've always done when i've been with my GF.

I can get the foreskin behind the head of my penis when it is erect but its very painful, as we use condoms I don't roll the skin backwards, but once we aren't using condoms I think it will naturally get pulled back and could be quite painful. I think you need to speak to your girlfriend, I spoke to my gf about it and she was really sympathetic and understanding, I know its a problem but it doens't affect my sex life much at the moment. I think without using condoms it would though, im unsure.

You should start by pulling it back when its not erect, you should be able to manage that (it hurts at first) but after a while it gets easier and easier...I just still havn't got the point where its easy when its erect..if that times comes or i'll have to see the doc...I don't know.

And the sensitivity issue...I remember the first time I got head, it was nearly agony because it was sooo sensitive. Its still sensitive now, but honestly, it dulls down pretty quickly if you just fight the uncomfortableness.

Hope this helps abit  good luck.
It could be the case of a short frenulm. Which is what I think I have got. And it can be sorted with an operation called a frenuloplasty which is nothing major. I went to see my doctor and he said there was no problem, when there obviously is if you cannot retract your penis fully when it is erect because sex won't be very pleasurable otherwise.

So he referred me to a urologist for sometime in August.
I never had sex before I was with my current bf, and after seeing those pics, I realised that my bf doesnt roll back his foreskin- because it definately does not look like that.

we always use condoms even though im on the pill and he says it hurts without.

does sex feel different for the guy if they dont roll back their foreskin?
