Can I get into University in September without A-Levels?

Can I?
I can't do A-leves cause I'm already too old. And Foundation's already begun. I might take a lot of classes from now till June and have an exam with all other Foundation students but will that guarantee a place at Uni? I am smart so I know I'll get good grades but is the length a problem?
Do you need either Alevels or Foundation to study at a UK Uni or can i just have loads of lessons, take the exam, pass, and then start?
Please help!
You will need 3 A levels or their equivalent or similar evidence that you can study at the required advanced level to apply for a degree course at a British Uni.

Courses appropriate for a mature student include Access courses. There are also Foundation courses (a pre-degree year) but these will require A levels.

The Open University (distance learning) does not require any specific entry requirements.
