Um, I don't know if it is available here but in Australia I had a brand called Diane which was fab.

Having said that, I just googled it and apparently it's not supposed to be used as a BC pill. Confused.com?

Get thee to your docs - they will be able to advise you.

Yeah, have just looked at all these sites saying Diane is not for birth control and is approved for severe acne only.

Wierd as I was on it for years! As was/is my sister.

OP, we're not the people to be asking - we're not qualifed to be doing this - ask your doctor.

Yeah it completely cleared it up but it took a good 6 months until my skin was fully clear. I've been off it for about 6 months and while I get a few spots occassionally my skin is nowhere near as bad as it was. I'm going on Yasmin though which apparently helps but is better as a long term birth control pill.

You can only take it for two years becuase it's very strong compared to the other pills and they only prescribe it for acne rather than just birth control although it is effective as a contraceptive.

Word of warning with that. If you like having periods, don't go on Implanon! Mine have disappeared.

i think mine have too, although...i cant see why people would like periods.

Well, some people would be like 'OMG I'm pregnant' which is nigh on impossible with the implant, but meh. I'm happy!

have you tried the non pill methods of treating it. I got a liquid which i put on my face twice a day, which worked v well. My friend went on the pill for acne and said it did work but she also got all the usual pill side-effects. Speak to your doc before deciding what you want, cus i suspect a creme would also be good.
