Finding my Dad

I don't tell people this, (which is why i wanted to post anon as I know people on TSR) but I have never known my biological father. My mum has always refused to discuss it, and has never told me anything about him. However i accidentally found my adoption papers from when my mum married my (step) dad when I was little, and his name is on there. I know what area he is from, and now have his full name. Is there any way i could find an address/phone number from the information I have? Thanks.

192.com

Type in his full name and area and his records should be on there, you may have to pay for further information, good luck.

Maybe find a copy of the BT phone book that covers that area and look it up under his surname.

Have you tried googling him yet btw? Who knows, there might be something there.

If the area is specific enough (ie a town I think) then use:

http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/publisha.content/en/find/residential/residential_numbers.publisha?BV_EngineID=ccccaddifimkjjdcflgcefkdffndfkm.0&action=redirectLink&vStore=1128&BV_SessionID=%40%40%40%401747244341.1152645296%40%40%40%40&obsNoSee=Y&obsPage=%2findex.jsp&targetLinkID=Sr_Find_Person

The only details you *have* to put in there are name and town. It could be the nearest big one - the postcode town I guess. If you don't know it then finding an atlas/using an online map or something and trying different towns till you get one where the surname and initial is there could work. If BT.com or the phone book works, you will then have a phone number and an address.

i tried googling and the phone book, nothing. Have just done the 192.com thing, not any info in the free bits but his name is there, in the historical electoral register (including middle name so im fairly sure it is him) will gladly pay to see his address, but am i right in thinking the historical elect register only covers 2002-2005? Because from the site i gathered that from 2006 people could opt to have their named removed from public viewing but before this they couldnt. If i have understood that right, that could mean he is still at the same adress. am i right or being stupid Lol?
Im in the same situation as you, although my dad isnt on my birth certificate, I know where hes family used to live, his name and what he was studying at uni when my mum met him. Im considering trasha!

thankyou - the b4usearch site gave me the full address, although i had to use what came up on the 192.com site as someone living with him's name as his details are removed from the electoral register. omg i have his name and adress in the space of a week that is amazing, am slightly numb! and the funny thing is that the house is about 10 mins walk from my house! thankyou so much everybody. also to anon 2 - his name wasnt on my birth certificate either, was on the forms he had to sign to get out of paying any child support.

Luke I am your father.

Are you called Luke, dude?

bt.com do a UK search, but use whitepages.com if you're from my side of the Atlantic

ive got no idea of actual address, I just knew which uni and where his family were originally from, so I take it I find random addresses from b4search then look up the phone numbers on bt? what do you plan on saying when you call? mine probably doesnt even know I exist.
