Does it matter which RICS MSc you do?

I have applied for MSc Rural Estate Management at the RAU. However, now I'm starting to have doubts about whether this will limit me to the rural/environmental side of surveying rather than say property?
I asked someone from Savills at the careers fair and he seemed to think that I would be able to work in any area afterwards and basically if its RICS accredited it doesn't matter but I'm still slightly worried.
Would it limit what area of surveying I could work in afterwards?

Hi, sorry I have no idea about the actual answer to your question but I was just wondering if RAU have got back to you yet? Simply because I can't find many people who have posted about them on here.

Hi, no worries.
They haven't got back to me yet. I sent my application off on Dec 13th, apparently they get back to you within two weeks. I presume they've been away over Christmas though?
I've decided I'll probably go with MSc Real Estate at Reading anyway because I can commute and for the reasons above.
Are you waiting to hear back from them?

They finally replied!
Well, they replied four days ago but UCAS failed to inform me, until I decided to randomly go on track when I was bored and worried I was never going to hear from RAU (just to look at the offers I'd already recieved to make myself feel slightly better) and there they were, two offers from royal Ag!
And fair enough I guess your point about the limitations to rural properties is valid because for example, I could choose to study business elsewhere but I want to specialise in agribusiness, hence I've applied to RAU and harper. So maybe the same applies to your course? I could be completely wrong though. Anywho, thank very much for your reply! I hope your application and offers and alevels and whatnot all go well! I've recieved all of mine now, just got an interview at Harper and that's it!

I had the same dilema but there is more money in commercial surveying and the course at the RAU is far less intense than the rural one!

I applied last fri so i have a while to wait yet- i went to the open day and i got the impression that it doesnt matter what rics course you do aslong as its accredited by them its fine! the real estate course at rau definitely seemed more veered towards valuation which i what i was looking for in a course.
Fingers crossed i get a place!
