Wisdom Teeth not so wise...

A few months ago maybe 3, i had some really bad pains coming from my gums at the back, then after about a month of varying pain levels (sometimes it hurt alot, sometimes hardly at all), something small, hard and smooth started to poke up from under my gums just a little bit. i just assumed these were my wisdom teeth growing, albeit very slowly (only the bottom gums though) anyways so they grew or came up i dunno, enough so i could actually see them in the mirror with alot of pulling of my lips...then slowly but eventually the pain just disappeared and my new teeth weren't coming out any further...in fact i think they changed their mind and went back down because new gum tissue has covered my emerging teeth i cant see or feel them any more and now its like this whole wisdom tooth event didn't even happen:eek:
I don't think there's any point in asking whether this is possible because its already happened, well is it normal has anything like this happened to any one else?

My mum is 38 and had hers out, very painful experience. I think mine are appearing and i dread that esperience, especially the not being able to eat!

My friend was telling me the other day actually, that her friend's wisdom teeth regularly pop in and out lol, so it does happen! I sympathise with the pain though, it does knack. Mine are all deciding to grow in at once, grr yeah very wise!

pain for like 2 mths then no pain for about a year, had an x-ray, told my teeth had to be yanked cause they had no where to go, 4 mths later they were out, and now 3 weeks later it's all good and my new hero is codiene (tylenol 3) LOL

^^^ hmmm i dont want any more teeth pulled out i've already lost 4 to braces...i'll have none left :broken:

thanks anyways

you may not want them pulled but you should get it checked out by your dentist cause mine were growing into my other molars and so they were shifting them to grow sideways, so if i hadnt had them pulled i would have had tons of problems and then had to get braces again after getting them pulled anyways...

i have kept one of mine, one of the lucky few i beleive. Mine was very slow and i kept getting teething pains with it. You can get bonjela, which is kind takes the pain away, doesnt necessarly numb it, but it works wonders.

I'm rather lucky - my wisdom teeth came out rather slowly (nearly fully apparent now) without any pain - so I kept them!

I wouldn't worry, mine have been popping in and out for a while now, they're relatively painless though. I can't help but play with them whenever they decide to make another appearance, I'm always getting shouted at for it :p:

If this happens, you need to have part of your gum removed so the teeth can come through properly. My wisdom teeth are coming through now and Im in so much pain I cant chew, smile, talk or shut/open my mouth properly and it make my ear and head hurt. They are a bloody nusiance and there is no point for them I HATE THEM

One of mine has come through, didn't have much trouble with it but the gum was a little sore to the touch. Don't know what the others are going to be like though.
