I am 3rd year student at UCLAN and i can tell you which places to avoid and which places to go for. I have lived in 2 halls and been to all of the other halls hosting flat parties or whatever.

1st year i lived in Ribble Halls. This place was terrible and i mean terrible! it was cheap, less than £90 a week. But with 6 people in the flat who are great people and i live with a few still, sharing 1 bathroom was a definite turn off for me.
Bedrooms are decent size and kitchen is a great size, but no living room.
I would avoid this place unless you want to spend as less as you can and have more money for nights out, food, books etc.

2nd year i lived in Moor Lane Halls which i still do in the 3rd year now. I quite like it, bit more expensive at £95-£98 a week not entirely sure what it is but i pay 3 installments, 1 each semester of £1453, £1453, £1380 if i remember correctly, so it dosent leave me with much money left to live on, so i have a part time job and get by fine.
Rooms are a good size, with 5 people per flat some less, 2 of the rooms are HUGE! like they're stupidly big! and the other are all the same size which is fairly decent, Large desk, massive wardrobe and more importantly, OWN BATHROOM!
Bathroom is quite small, but you get used to it straight away.
Kitchen/Living room is open plan, quite big, corner sofas, and a TV with all the stuff in the kitchen there like kettles, microwaves etc.

Personally i think Moor Lane Halls and IQ Kopa are the best places. IQ kopa is huge! Practically built onto Moor Lane, but the rooms and flats seem way more modern but i think there are but more expensive. I would certainly love to live in there. Bedrooms are almost identical to Moor Lane Halls, but you can tell they get a bit more TLC and have had a better makeover to make it look modern, especially in the open plan kitchen and living area, everything is clean, shiny and newish compared to Moor Lane things do look a bit warn out but i don't mind it tbh.

I would definatly recomend IQ kopa, Moor Lane Halls! Avoid Ribble Halls, Whitendale and Eden! They're all the same and look completely warn out! They're cheap and leave you with more money, but i would prefer to spend more money on a decent flat than live in somewhere from September to may hating my room and kitchen and bathroom.

Hope that helps a bit! Either way what halls you pick, you'll find flaws with every halls and you may like the ones i avoid and hate but everyone to there own i guess! You'll meet people, go to flat parties in different halls across preston and then you will realise within the first few weeks which halls are the best and which are worse and then in the 2nd year you can make that choice of going to a more expensive halls but better quality.
Oh and for peace of mind, all halls have security guards patrolling the area late into the night, we had next doors flat in the first yera at ribble broken into by the window by the locals, was awful!
Moor Lane, IQ Kopa and a few other up market halls have security gates surrounding the halls, which can only be accesed by your key card. But still has security 24 hours a day all through your stay. 1 security guard working 8am-8pm and then another working 8pm-8am.
Hope this helps your choice!

I'm living in Ribble now and I like it. I would vastly prefer more money in my pocket as opposed to a more materialistic living environment, which I couldn't care about as long as the accommodation has all the necessities then you'll be happy. But if you're hell bent on getting the best looking accommodation for whatever reason then yes go IQ or Moor lane as suggested I guess. The question is, do you want a more sophisticated living environment or money in your pocket to satisfy the lifestyle of a king as opposed to the stereotypical low student budget life.

Hello, this is Maqtal Salah, just finished my first year at UCLan Preston Campus with an offer for you. I recently applied to a new place to go live with my friends and tried to cancel my contract with Trinity but they denied me the chance and I am looking for someone to take my tenancy. Trinity is much much closer to the high street and the city centre and the sports centre while only being ten minutes further from the university. It’s only £96 pw as well, among the cheapest in Preston while having a decently sized room compared to most private accommodations. Please feel free to WhatsApp me, +447440323993. Hope you have a great year at UCLan next year! By accepting this deal, you save yourself the hassle of having to apply and stuff, you literally just move in and I will take care of the rest.

Hi @Maqtal Salah,

It's great to hear that you are a student here at UCLan. We've noticed your recent post above about accommodation. You might be best trying to reach out to the Students' Union to see if they have anywhere they can advertise this.

I'd also just be aware that your sharing personal information like your WhatsApp number on a public forum.

Any questions, do let us know. 😊

Best wishes,
Sarah
