I'll join.

They're a good enough band, right enough. They were at T in the Park on Saturday. It's just a shame they were competing with Sigur Ros... who I went to see instead.

Everything from Mother's Milk to One Hot Minute= Excellent.Everything else is cack.

Plus, Keidis cannot sing live. At all.

Some of my friends are massive Chilis fans and I continually arge with them about how good a singer Kiedas is. They are convinced he is in the top 10 singers in the world. I simply laugh.

Rightly so.

Plus, they're stumbling further into the middle of the road, which is sad as the band used to be excellent.

Agreed... I much prefer their older stuff, however cliched that may sound!

I must admit to having never heard ANY of their older stuff, bar Under the Bridge.

What album would you recommend getting? I have the three latest ones and love them all (although I think they are all too long).

Blood Sugar Sex Magik is a good one, and if you like that then try Mother's Milk or One Hot Minute. Be prepared though - it's a completely different sound from their more recent albums!

He can sing live.. couldn't pre-californication admittedly.

If what I heard of Keidis at T In The Park was to go by(Amongst other concerts they've did), then you are wrong.

His voice is crap live, they need Flea and Frusciante to carry them live.
I'm going to see them on saturday for the first time, and for £45 i sure hope he can sing

Prepare to be disappointed, Johnny boy is the real vocal talent, but what makes Anthony good is his freaky styley (see what I did there? anyone?) rap/singing thing, it's cool. They are really good live don't worry it's worth all that money just to see them.

I read his autobiog and before Cali he had quite a lot of singing lessons so that explains why his singing improved on that album (Scar Tissue particularly in my opinion).

As for early stuff, definately check out What Hits?!, their FIRST greatest hits, which has Under The Bridge and Give It Away along with a load of good tracks, also Love Rollercoaster is a great song, otherwise I hear Freaky Styley (get it now?!) is the best of their early work.
hi, this is my first post on this forum but been reading it for a while.

went seeing chilis on tuesday night at the men in manchester and *shock horror* they didnt play under the bridge, not even in the encore. They played a lot of their older stuff tho so i didn't mind too much. under the bridge is overplayed as well but i was still shocked that they didnt play their biggest hit. have they played it on this tour at all? does anyone know? the anniversay of hillel slovaks death was on june 25th so i think that could be something to do with it. i was still a bit confused leaving tho, i mean, y wouldnt they play it? its not like leaving out scar tissue or something.
