Knee pain

Hi all, Star again with another problem.

Two weeks ago I was playing football and went to kick the ball hard and heard a large click in my leg. After which for three days my knee and thigh hurt. They both stopped hurting afterwards, however whenever I bend my knee still hurts making things such as putting pants on painful.

Also whenever I kick a ball the pain returns, this only occurs in my right leg.

I have a doctors appointment booked for wednesday but if anyone could help me out I would be grateful.

Actually there is a whole medics society.... but they cant give advice. I was hoping for somebody who has any idea.

where do you feel the pain in the knee? does putting pressure on the knee hurt when straight and bent?
Reply 3
It hurts when straigthening then bending.

Its below the knee and above the knee.

sounds like a bit of a ligament strain - just rest it, and go see the doctor

I have previously torn my ligaments
Reply 6
then, seriosly, rest it.

I did something similar in a drunken fall and it only needed resting for a couple of weeks...but I'd wait and see what your doctor says
My right kneecap doesn't fit properly, so that when I bend or straighten it hurts... I need surgery but have to wait until I'm in my early twenties in case I grow. Of course, the likelihood of you having this is 0.0001 %, I just thought I'd make you feel less alone in your pain. Or something like that

Until you know what's wrong, take some pain killers and put your feet up...

I think my kneecap is out of place slightly however I don't get any pain from it. You probably just buggered up the ligament. Just wait for the doctor.

Oh well, no football till then.

is it swollen or bruised? click or make any other noise when you move it? oh and what kind of pain is it

My advice would be to sit tight (no pun intended) and wait until you've seen your GP.

If you're in pain, try RICE therapy - rest, ice, compression and elevation; with some ibuprofen if you're in pain...
