vet school exam questions

Hi, I've just been reading about everyone doing their 1st year vet school exams. Since everyone says vet school is really hard and there's loads to learn, I just wondered what the questions were like in the exam. Are there multiple choice and essay questions? Maybe a few sample questions would be interesting to look at..

If i was you i wouldnt worry about them until you get to them!!And besides it depends on where you go to what they are like...in edinburgh they arent multiple choice for at least the first two years whereas other places do have mcq's.

Its a real mix. In my 1st year my end of year biomolecular science exam was 40 MCQs and that was all - no essays or anything. Sounds easy but the options are all very similar and hard to guess if you don't actually know the answer. negative marking also penalises guessing. the other subjects used a mix of essays, short answer Qs and MCQs.

Even if you saw exam questions, it doesn't give you an indication of the sheer wealth of broad knowledge that you need to develop in your years at vet school. quantity wise i had eight lever arch files of stuff to learn in the first year alone!!

in theory uni say you should do 3 hrs work around each hour of lecture time but we get 25 hrs a week so sod that lol! i did upto an hour a night on good nights and an afternoon at the weekend in first year but then again i've had a great time instead and failed every year so far- eek!

we have mcq after each module and an oral and mcq after mcm in 2nd term, and then mcq, short answer, essay and oral at the end of the year. more ppl failed in my year then ever before at the rvc, or so im told, so they are very hard! i passed tho! so chuffed! hehe! still dont no how some of these oldies on here made it to 3rd/4th year :wink:

not as far a i no, i think ther are in higher years but not for us little first year babies!

Yep past papers available for liverpool students for all years available on the faculty homepage. CLIVE is useful for all vet students and Liverpool are usually good at giving you lots of practice for such as practical/spot exams.
