Can you do more than one Masters?

Fairly straightforward (and possibly stupid lol) question.

I do History & Politics and wouldn't consider staying at my current uni after graduation to do the MA His & Pol. A couple of different MAs have caught my eye, one in International Politics and one in Modern European History both of which would accept a good classification in my degree subject as entry. If I wanted to (and won the lottery to afford it!) could I do one and then the other the year after?

Ta much

Yes you can - one of my friends has 3 masters and is doing his second doctorate (he is crazy though - like in a proper mental kind of way)

Yes, I know a person with two masters and two phDs.
Blimey. PhDs scare me!!!

Thanks for the info kids, rep when I'm finished repping all the other helpful people!
You can, I was thinking of doing two masters, but you dont want to be overqualified...plus masters cost allot specially if you wanna do it at a good uni. A good masters is one which is undertaken at a good uni, and those unis charge allot.
I know a few people who got the Marshall Scholarship and used it to get two masters from two UK universities. One now plans to go to law school!
But I don't really see the point. There doesn't seem to be a reason to get two masters in a similar subject. Just finish the BA at your uni and move on to a different uni afterwards.

Yes, a few students do more than one masters - but usually only because they had to do a general one first, before they could do one in the subject they wanted. E.g. doing a masters in Business Management, before they could get accepted for a Masters in Human Resource Management or something like that. But as for helping you with getting a job - unlikely - best to make a start at working, get on the ladder. Much more useful than two masters. Probably fine if you want to be an academic.
I'm doing my second Master's this year, but am changing field and Universities. I would have never gotten into this one straight from undergrad, so in your case I think it depends a lot on your marks now and how much of a leap (in University 'quality' and field) it is to the Master's you want to do (not much in your case)... It sounds more like you enjoy both aspects of your current degree and are not sure how to choose between them. If I were you I'd apply to both programs and see what offers you get (this could make the descision for you, in terms of scholarships etc.)

why - no, not at all.

Two masters at the same time is not usually possible. Most Unis don't allow you to be registered for another Uni at the same time as doing their masters. One masters in hard to keep up with, never mind 2.
