BBSRC stipend payment frequency and amount

First 3 months of phd. I received my first payment, which was a quarter of the stipend when I started the PhD. 3 months later I expected the same amount to come through, but it's actually looking like I've received double the payment.
I was wondering whether anyone else is on a BBSRC grant, and how often they get paid. Also, I know that some funding bodies increase the stipend for each year of ones study. Does the BBSRC do this? They should presumably increase the stipend with inflation, but I know that the welcome trust, for example, give their students am extra £5000 per year so that by the time they finish they're on £25,000 or something like that.
