What are the differences between a maths and a physics degree?

Can you also explain how different degree level physics is from A Level in terms of content and mathematics?

Physics degrees contain physics. Maths is prob more maths???

I study physics at durham. Start with some regular a level maths to ease you in but the pace increases quite dramatically. You cant afford to fall behind!

Physics A - Level --> Physics Degree
More practicals/lab writeups etc
MUCH more maths focus
Often involves computing programming/modelling

Maths A-Level --> Maths Degree
You are introduced to pure mathematics
Much more emphasis on proofs
You learn a lot about mathematical rigour

Physics degree will involve much more practical applications and your knowledge with maths will be applied to real life. There is also more emphasis on approximations.

Maths degree will have applied modules which you can drop in later years. However they are generally more likely to be only mechanics and relativity based. You will learn a LOT more statistics, Pure mathematics and fundamental theorems.

Any questions just say
Physics contains physics, and applicable mathematics in science.

Maths is more focussed on proofs, etc.
