What kind of culture do you want? (Or don't want?)

As the title says.

Some ideas that may galvanize some thought:
-I want a family oriented society.
-I want individual freedom.
-Society should value the arts and sciences.
-Society must be more like Mos Eisley; anything goes.
-Society must be more like the Capitol of Coruscant; high standards.

Culture often has both a social and an artistic aspect. For example, Christmas socializes family members. Dancing socializes the opposite sex. So if you want new culture, one approach is to think of what kind of social function you want it to serve.

MOTIVATION
I'm creating a summary on what culture netizens want.

As you may know, various minority groups want to modify culture to suit their own interests. But I'm instead tryign to create a summary of what "most" people want, for the purpose of influencing culture in a more balanced way.

For example, in all Swedish schools today, kids are taught to be "gender neutral". That is what their schools now consider one of their most crucial values.

Programs like these are pushed by social science professors, and various minority activists. They want to modify society, but they don't necessarily represent what most want.

I will put the summary on this thread and on another website. You can evolve the summary with your comments or by submitting links to other discussions about culture.

ACTIVISM
The summary can later be used to guide activism. Effective activism needs team work and a central plan, like the summary.

A society based around respect, tolerance and freedom. How that manifests itself, I have very little idea - I'm no politician

I don't want a culture where everyone complains about everything all the time and acts all entitled. Basically, America.

What do you mean by humanistic? It can mean a lot of things. I assume you mean that all humans should be treated with consideration.

I think it's mainly institutions like state, media and schools that are forcing that stuff into the spotlight. I doubt normal people want anything to do with it, if they had a choice.
