The Student Room Group
i mean for your first question you can check it out on the NHS own websites. for biomedical students (because a very close friend of mines is going on to study it) as you can see thru here http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/nhs-knowledge_base/data/4841.html biomeds come uinder band5 , which fits in with other good jobs at band 5 and the salary is like 19-24 thousand http://www.nhscareers.nhs.uk/nhs-knowledge_base/data/5581.html so its cool. and other than that biomedical scientists can get paid even better like in band 6 if they go on to do a msc and then phd. so its not bad  its good!!!!!!!

I am a biomedical scientist and I would like to stress that you must make sure that the course you apply for is accredited by the IBMS/HPC. Most of the old red brick unis do not have accredited biomedical science degree courses, but these courses are still called 'biomedical science' or similar so beware. Most ex-polyd biomed courses are accredited.
Thank you so much for the information. However, I'm quite unsure of the benefit/s of doing a IBMS/HPC accredited biomedical science course?

Thom5455, what is the best area of specialisation in biomedical science? I know it really depends on your choice/preference but which area of specialisation do hospitals need the most, if you get me...

How would you get registered with the HPC if you do an unaccredited biomed degree?
