'False start' year + 2 Year Fd + top up year – am I eligible for Student Finance?

Okay, so I started Uni in 2010, and left halfway through my first year of a 3 year Honours degree.

Fast forward 2 years, and in 2012 I started a 2 year Foundation degree, now I am coming to the end of that degree, I want to continue on into the 3rd year to 'top-up' my Foundation to an Honours degree.

My question is am I eligible for student finance for this top up year, and do I go about applying for it in the same way?

I'm unsure as I know you get funding for the amount of years of your current course (in my case, 2) + 1 year. So technically I have used up my allowance, but as I'm carrying on to get the same level of degree I went for originally in 2010, I'm hoping I'm still eligible.

I hope this made sense, thanks in advance!

I believe you would be eligible as the top up year is a higher level than the previous two years. You should contact student finance to clarify this though. Perhaps ask in the 'Ask Student Finance England' board.
