Shaving Questions! (male)

Hi all,

Im male and got a few questions about shaving,

1. When using a shaver (blade) for facial hair, how do you know when to change blades??? also, any tips on shaving?

2. Do men shave armpits?, ive been told to trim them because they look bad when im wearing a t-shirt. I trimmed once, and it irritated for many days...should i use shaving cream and shave them??

3. Do men need to shave down there?, how many do? and how?

4. How to sort out mono-brow's?

Thanks,

Ib

1. Just use a mach 3, it has a green strip above the blade, when the colour fades it means its time for a new 1.

2.) Think some people do but I cant imagine it being comfortable.

3.) I sometimes do, just give it a trim or do a normal wet shave

4.) wax it in the middle i suppose

I don't really know, not being a man! But as a girl I would advise you not to shave your armpits, personally I think that would look incredibly odd and just, gah?! *shudder*

Mainly agree with the above, but shaving down their can be pretty uncomfortable. It depends whether you really feel the urge to have your balls shaved.

Also, you'll know when to change a blade as it just won't give as smooth a shave. It also depends how regularly you shave - if you're shaving every day then a blade will last for ages, if you shave when you've got quite a bit of stubble then the balde (at least multi-blade ones) will get clogged up pretty quickly.
I shave approximately every 3 days, depending on my mood, haircut, hairstyle at the time, whether some bum fluff suits me at the time etc...

Shaving tips, wet shave, apply shaving foam prior to act of shaving, shave with the grain, not against it. After shaving, wet face with cold water, flannel face with cold water, hold cold flannel against face for a minute or so....

If you have any post-shave moisturiser (alcohol free), use that. Sometimes it's best to pay for quality...so try and avoid cheap crap as it probably isn't all that compatible with your skin...

As for the 'downstairs', i have no intentions to look like a chicken and bald. Just trim 'the garden' with scissors, just make sure you don't cut where you shouldn't or wouldn't want to be cutting!! I have chest hair but don't want too much, sometimes a slight trim with scissors but nothing significant. Arm pit hair - some hair but not a forest, i've never shaved my arm pits....
ALWAYS USE GOOD SHAVING FOAM. Seriously, you'll thank me for this, Shaves MUCH easily, and smells nice!

as you get used to shving, you tend to know when the blade needs changing, as it doesn't shave as smooth, i shave every 2-3 days depending on how lazy i am, lol, also, wash your face with a face wash before, as it'll make shaving a lot easier, as you have clean skin.

personally i would never shave my armpits, as i'm hairy everywhere else, so would look a bit daft.

and as for down below, just give it a slight trim with some scissors if it looks like a forest, but otherwise don't trim too much that you go bald

Hi all,
4. How to sort out mono-brow's?

Pluck central hairs with tweezers

Monobrow - just take ur razor and shave it in the middle of your eyebrows, shaving cream not even needed. Although if it's quite.. bushey.. then that might not work. So maybe wax it or something on the first go, but after that, once you see a few odd hairs appearing every so often just take your blade to it.

With the shaving ure armpits dont do it, no man does it no point.
Shaver use a mach 3, when the green strip needs changing change the blade
U should shave ure privates, as they will just overgrown and it will start to itch and stuff in the summer.
Do not shave ure monobrow as its the most sensitive part so it will grown back twice as long faster, so wax it.
With the tips for shaving, always shave in the direction that the hair is growing in, normally upwards, this then cuts the hair more, therefore less time shaving. Good Luk dude

Wax your whole body, then you can be as smooth as a hippo.

i see alot of people use mach3 here,

What about the new wilkinson quatro (4-blade) razor?

Better than mach3?

Also, i have black hair, so the hair under armpits is v.noticeable? is it a turn-off?

Ib
Mach 3 all the way, never had any problems with it....

I need to shave most days nowadays but work takes its toll and its a case of an extra 10 minutes in bed, or shaving - bed normally wins... so i end up growing a beard gradulaly through the week, then shaving it on the saturday when i dont have to work. I age about 40 years in the space of 5 days.

I've never heard of any guy shaving his armpits...

I wouldn't worry so much!

If there is one thing i would advise you invest in, thats a proper shavign brush, appying shaving gel with a brush really helps as it massages it deep and makes sure all the hairs are suspended in the gel.

Also, like previously said look for a good after-syhave balm or cream. I use an organic one from germany, its a bit expensive but its really worth keeping your skin in healthy condition.

As for pubes, erm, i shaved mine all off once and it itches like HELL and i thought it look dumb, just trim it short with some scissors (somehwere where you wont get hair everywhere or block the plug hole lol)

Underarm hair..just leave it unless it looks reallly hairy.
i am trying to think how to explain it. i just use a noustache trimmer n cut thru the yop of the mono-brow. they dint give a clean shave but r bloody fast n easy to use. down there no.......i usually pull them out it is sort of like a hobby n armpits no way that just looks odd

1) I use disposable gillette razors. Shaving "against the grain" seems to work for me, especially underneath my chin.
2) No, do not shave your armpits. That's just wrong.
3) No, imagine the stubble when you are walking. Again, that's just wrong.
4)You don't.
Also if you have just embarked upon puberty look forward to a hairy arse, hairy legs and even the possibility of a hairy back.

I dont understand this "grain" stuff,

basically, your supposed to shave (face) downwards (top to bottom)?
Esquire

4)You don't.

So you'd just leave it and have a mono-brow?

Its not the most attractive of features...
Avoid disposables, they give a crap shave that isn't close at all.

Mach 3 is where it's at.
