Preventing a 'just friends' situation

I have never had a girlfriend, but get on brilliantly with girls.
I met a girl at a party who seems to really like me, but she ( I hear) has never had a boyfriend either.
Wre have chatted on msn for about a week, i dont have her number.
I want to go further but don't want it to end up in a 'just friends' situation.
Is there any way of making this clear, without saying it bluntly.
How much longer do you reckon I should wait?

do not express it in words, that never turns out well, just ask for her number and to hang out and then kiss her at the right moment if things go well

If you keep talking to her without getting her number and asking her out you will end up in the 'just friends' category. And once placed in that category it is almost impossible to get out. The best advice I can give is stop acting like just a friend and ask her out. Don't overdo the msn or contact with her until you have asked her out.

I'm not saying play hard to get, far from it in fact, but girls do like when they think they might just have a chance with someone, but are not sure. Flirt around a bit. It will make her think you like her, and get her attention. Then, ask for her number, (this will make her excited) and when you phone, ask her if she'd like to go to dinner sometime =]

Yea, don't use msn to just talk to her as friends: flirt. Tell her: "weird, you seem quite different from all the other girls because...." or just post a couple winks...
